The Village

Cotignac is an exceptionally beautiful medieval village with a spectacular limestone escarpment forming a unique backcloth.

The main boulevard has an avenue of centuries old plane trees whose thick foliage shades the terraces of cafes and restaurants during the summer.

This is where you can enjoy genuine Provençal cuisine and fine French wines; venues where you are guaranteed a warm, friendly welcome.

Find your way to the main square, pass through the portal beneath the clock tower and voila you’re at the house. Quiet and peaceful with a large west-facing terrace.

Within a three-minute amble you find cafés, restaurants, 3 boulangerie/patisserie, 2 boucherie/charcuterie, 1 poissonnerie and 2 épicerie. There is a busy market in the main street every Tuesday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Cotignac is at the heart of Provence, one hour’s drive from several golf courses, St. Tropez and the Mediterranean or Lac St. Croix where you can swim, hire canoes, bikes and more.

Lac St. Croix 35 km from Cotignac

Sillance de la Cascade 9 km fromCotignac

Perhaps you want to visit one of the many local vineyards for a bit of cordial wine tasting. Hire car from airports at Nice or Montpelier or self-drive through Europe. Follow the Rhone valley to Aix-en-Provence and then east towards Nice. Follow the signs to Brignoles, continue along the  D554 towards le Val, and then the D22 to Montfort and Cotignac.
